London town

We stepped into London for a few hours on Sunday. I was amazed at how few cars there were and how quiet it made inner city feel. I guess that congestion tax is working. London buses and cabs were cruising about but they are all part of the sights visitors come to see in this old city. There were lots of people strolling, standing and sitting about, all very relaxed and friendly.

We spent some time in St James's Park where we slept in the pram, talked to Granny and Pompa and Tanti back home. Pompa told us of how when he came to the park as a child you were not allowed to walk on the grass and how he loves the way the park has changed. We met with a friend. We squealed when we saw a squirrel, honked at the geese and chased the pigeons with glee.

It was warm and sunny so we bought ice-creams and ate them to the sound of the band. (And any scrap that fell was rapidly retrieved and eaten up.)

We spotted a palace and a BIG ferris wheel and listened to the protestors marching and chanting.

And then we wandered by that magical place where we had watched a real princess and prince be married a few weeks ago from the other side of the world, Westminster Abbey. Dada managed to take a quick picture with his phone whilst managing the bag, the pram, a baby and little man, on a street corner. Pretty good effort.
That little Spring girl, she brought with her the memorial magazine of the wedding between Kate Middleton and Prince William and I've noticed it tucked beneath her pillow. She doesn't say much about it but it's there. Funny, so sweet. Fairy tales.
